If you want a guide of How to Delete an Email Mailbox click here
http://mobilepakistan.wordpress.com/2008/03/04/how-to-delete-email-mailbox-in-nokia-e61i/

Note: I see some people are having trouble deleting their emails. This problem only happens if you delete the email when the Mailbox is “disconnected”.

SOLUTION: Keep the Mailbox “CONNECTED“and then delete your Emails.

There is a problem in the Nokia Email client that when the Email Mailbox is not “Connected” the Inbox does not refresh & deleted emails still show, but the problem can be easily fixed. If you have deleted an Email when DISCONNECTED, and if you still see it, then “CONNECT ” and go to RETRIEVE EMAIL and select NEW. This will refresh your Inbox and the deleted Emails will disappear. If you still see the deleted emails even after connecting, then Disconnect, and CONNECT again. The main purpose of Connecting and Disconnecting is to refresh the Inbox so that it will remove the deleted emails.

    Thank you.

    do you know how to setting IM in E61i for YM and google talk?

    Thanks in advance

  • 10. Moblogpk  |  April 1, 2008 at 12:55 pm

    @Wahyu

    Most Welcome :)

    Yes you can easily setup YM and GTalk. My personal favourite is Fring Messenger.

    Infact you can set up all of the following IM in the E61i totally free:

    Windows Live Messenger,
    AOL Instant Messenger,
    Yahoo!™ Instant Messenger,
    Google Talk™,
    QQ,
    Jabber,
    Gadu-Gadu,
    ICQ,
    Skype®,
    MIRC,
    SIP,
    Myspace,
    Twitter,
    Facebook.

    As not all messengers provide all of the IM services together, you can find the most suitable one for yourself. You will find all of the free messengers from here “Free Java & Symbian Softwares” which you see under Categories on the right side of this page, or simply click on this link Free Java & Symbian Softwares.
    You can also find all other free Applications for the E61i here.

    Need HELP !! In the Incoming email step after selecting SSL/TLS, the port always reverts to “Default” even though I have repeatedly entered “993″. Is Defalut port same as port 993? If not, how do I get 993 to be saved? My Gmail IMAP only works if I manually “Connect” but not automatically for 5 mins, 15 mins, or 30 minute intervals. Thanks in advance

  • 12. Moblogpk  |  April 16, 2008 at 1:00 pm

    @dshah
    If you have entered SSL/TLS Port 993 and clicked OK, and after Connecting you can view your emails in the Inbox then don’t worry about the “Default”. This means that the port has been saved and it’s working fine. :)

    If you still cannot view the Emails in the Inbox, then let me know, I’ll try to check what the problem can be.

    I’m slightly confused about your 2nd query, so it’ll be great if you could let me know in detail what problem you’re having with the Automatic Retrieval.

    About the Automatic Retrieval, the system is that you have to manually Connect to the Mailbox. Let it remain “Connected“. Now, if you have chosen 5 minutes for Retrieval Interval, then the phone will Automatically refresh/update the Mailbox after every 5 minutes to check for any new mails. (Doing the 5-minute Retrieval may drain the battery faster, so I suggest letting it check after every half an hour or 1 hour)

    If the Mailbox is Disconnected, then the Automatic Retrieval system will not be able to do it’s work. The retrieval is automatic, not the connection, but this is not an issue, as all you have to do is manually connect once. That’s it.

    If you find Nokia’s Built-In Email Client bothersome, you can also Install EMOZE PUSH Email Application. It’s totally free, and will PUSH EMail to your phone with no problems.

    But it’s the same with Emoze as well, you will have to leave Emoze ”Connected” to let it Push Email to the phone.

    Here’s the Official Website of Emoze Push Email
    http://www.emoze.com

    Or if you like, you can also install Google’s own Gmail Free Java Application on your phone to check your emails. The application is Java-based, so it’s a little heavy, but it works great, but this does not Push email. You will have to refresh the mailbox manually everytime. The Application is available here on Gmail’s Official Website
    http://www.gmail.com/app

    If you have followed this tutorial correctly, then everything should work properly.

    The only other problem I can guess is that maybe your GPRS isn’t connecting properly. Check if your GPRS is working.

    Question > Can I have more than ONE MAILBOX setup ??

  • 22. Moblogpk  |  May 13, 2008 at 8:47 am

    @Peter
    Yes you can have more than 1 Mailbox.
    I currently have 3 Gmail and 1 Yahoo Mailbox.

    You can see the screenshot of this “New Mailbox” option in this tutorial. It’s the first thing mentioned in my Step-By-Step guide. :)

    If you already have other mailboxes, for a New MailBox follow this:
    Select ‘Menu’> ‘Messag.’ > ‘Options‘ > ‘Settings’ > ‘E-mail’ > ‘Options‘ > ‘New Mailbox‘>
