How to Use Internet Bookmarks as Active Standby Screen Shortcuts in Nokia E61i & other Symbian S60 3rd Edition phones

In my previous post of Changing Active Standby Screen Shortcuts in Nokia E61i and other Symbian S60 3rd Edition phones, I had written a tutorial of how to change the shortcuts in the Active Standby screen to your most used applications.

In this post, I will explain how to use your favourite & most used Internet Bookmarks as Shortcuts in your Active Standby.

In the screenshot you can see that the 4th icon from the left is the Shortcut to mobilepakistan.wordpress.com

Normally, the Bookmarks created in the phone’s Web Browser do not appear in the Standby Apps. Shortcut list, but you’ll see that the Bookmarks in the Services Browser all appear in the list. So what you have to do now is to simply add your favourite bookmarks in the Services Browser, and they will all appear in the shortcut list!

Here is my tutorial:

To use an Internet Bookmark as an Active Standby Screen Shortcut, go to
Menu> Media> Services> Options> Bookmarks


In the Bookmarks, go to
Options> Bookmark Manager> Add Bookmark

Add the Bookmark you want, click Options> Save

After you’re done adding the Bookmarks, to select the Bookmark as a shortcut, go to
Menu> Settings> Phone> Standby Mode> Active Standby Apps.

In this screenshot you can see, that the Bookmark which I added, now appears in the Standby Apps. Shortcut list. Choose the Bookmark as a Shortcut and click OK.

You can also change the Access Point of the Services Browser Bookmarks from WAP to INTERNET by going to
Menu> Media> Services> Options> Settings> Access Point
