Fring Mobile Messenger – Free Application for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
The long wait is over ![]()
Fring for the Nokia 5800 (Symbian S60 5th Edition) is finally officially here!

Fring is one of my favourite free mobile messengers for chatting. The interface is simple and the application itself is extremely easy to use.
It lets me stay connected to multiple Messengers at the same time, specially Skype, which most other free messengers miss out on. I can easily update my Twitter (Chat Only) through Fring, and another really nice feature is that it also notifies me of any incoming Gmail mails.

Fring works with
Skype,
Windows Live Messenger / MSN,
Google Talk™,
Yahoo! Instant Messenger
ICQ,
AOL Instant Messenger / AIM®,
SIP,
Facebook,
Gmail Notifier,
Twitter,
Orkut,
Yandex.mail,
Last.fm

Nimbuzz Mobile Messenger – Free Application for Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, iPhone, Motorola, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc.
I had first tried out the (Beta) Symbian Nimbuzz way back in March 2008, so when the guys from Nimbuzz.com contacted me with the latest update about their free mobile messenger software, I had to try it out again and see what the Out-Of-Beta Symbian version was like.
So what is Nimbuzz? – Nimbuzz is a free mobile messenger and VoIP client for calls, chat, messaging, swapping files on the go, all for free!

Overall, I liked the updated Nimbuzz. It has a very clean, fast interface and I had fun using it
There is also a neat feature of making your own “Nimbuzz Chatrooms”. Some improvement with Battery-Consumption is needed. I also found switching quickly between multiple chats a little tough. Hopefully updates in the future will look into these small hiccups.
Connectivity is with GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and 3G as well.

Nimbuzz works with
Skype,
Google Talk™,
AOL Instant Messenger / MobileMe,
Windows Live Messenger / MSN,
Yahoo! Instant Messenger
Jabber,
ICQ,
Myspace,
Facebook,
Gadu-Gadu,
Hyves,
studiVZ / meinVZ,
schülerVZ

Nimbuzz is also one of the first messengers to allow Landscape chatting on the iPhone and iPod Touch!
You can find Nimbuzz in the iTunes App Store
Currently Nimbuzz is available in Java, Symbian S60, Windows Mobile, PC as well as Web versions. Nimbuzz works on around 1000 types of mobile phones worldwide ranging from all the popular devices like iPhone, iPod Touch, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc. You can check if your phone is supported here in this list

Opera Mini™ Browser – 4.2 Beta announced!
Used by over 20 million people worldwide, the world’s most popular and my personal favourite mobile Web Browser, Opera Mini™ is now in 4.2 Beta!
As this is a Java application, it works in all Java-enabled phones and its totally free!

As Opera Mini 4.2 is a Beta version (meaning it is still in testing phase) it will install next to any existing stable Opera Mini version on your device and will not overwrite any of your data.

Great new stuff in Opera Mini 4.2 (Beta):
Skins – Personalize Opera Mini by choosing a new colorful skin. We have reintroduced the popular skinning feature from Opera Mini 3.
Performance – Opera Mini 4.2 can use our newly established server park in the US. This means significantly faster page downloads for our users in the Americas and Asia-Pacific region. Users in the rest of the world will also experience faster page downloads since we’ve reduced the load on our other servers.
Video – We are working to make video content available on more phones through Opera Mini. If you have a new Sony Ericsson or Nokia phone, the chance is high that you can take Opera Mini for a spin on m.youtube.com.
Sync your Notes – The handy Notes functionality from the Opera Desktop Web browser just got more portable through Opera Link. All of your notes are available in Opera Mini directly from the Bookmarks menu.
Download Opera Mini 4.2 beta
Point your phone’s browser to mini.opera.com/beta to download the beta version of Opera Mini 4.2.
Or Alternatively, you can download Opera Mini to your computer for a manual installation from Opera’s Official Website.
